Devendra Banhart
What Will We Be
(Warner Brothers Records)
|
This album doesn’t sound like anything on the radio these days, but it’s definitely enjoyable. Banhart sings his mind without caring — apparently — about what others will think of him, doing it even in Spanish, at times rhyming "corazon" with "amor" in my favorite "Angelika," and although this is one of the most popular rhyming formulas in Spanish music, it sounds refreshing in this particular song.
