Miike Snow is the nom de band of the misterioso Swedish production team best known for Britney’s indie-crossover hit “Toxic,” and is currently intriguing the world’s ear with the pulsing, infectious minor-key dance-pop of tunes like “Animal.” Though this is definitely their foray into indie rock, their past work with the likes of Madonna and Kylie shows through in the hypnotic rhythms, tense builds and blissful choruses herein. The fusion of thoughtful melodicism and big disco has kind of an ‘80s Erasure / Tears for Fears kind of quality to it. Miike Snow will certainly validate those music lovers who don’t see an essential divide between the best radio clubpop and the best indie rock. And you can get physical to it too!
