Yours Truly, the Commuter
Jason Lytle
Yours Truly, the Commuter
(ANTI)
Three years ago, the members of Grandaddy called it quits. Fortunately, with Jason Lytle’s ethereally beautiful solo album, it’s as if the band never really left us. This album retains the signature Grandaddy sound fans know and love: dreamy lo-fi vocals, gauzy keyboards, orchestral strings, and earnest lyrics. – Michael Rosas, Hollywood

First solo release from the Grandaddy frontman since that beloved Central CA. indie band broke up in 2006! Lytle has moved to Montana, and some of the spaciousness of the Big Sky state can be heard in these wide, sweeping, anthemic yet intimate compositions. He plays and sings everything, nestling his heartworn tales of modern anomie in clouds of sonic grandeur. The title track is a gentle meditation on the ambiguous joys of fitting into the 9 to 5 commuter world, or dropping out. Warm, melancholy and entrancing!
