Doctor Who series 3
The 10th doctor is the best since Tom Baker.
Torchwood, Season 1 DVD
Torchwood is an anagram for Doctor Who. Lots of yummy crossovers. Doctor Who for adults, not your usual family fare. Deals with issues of existentialism, sexuality and gender.
400: Season 3 DVD
Finally something to fill the X-Files hole.

PJ Harvey - White Chalk
This album is pared back to piano and fragile vocals. I really like this direction. PJ always maintains strength in her uniqueness. Truly one-of-a-kind.
Julia Kent - Delay
I would play this on repeat. Julia creates a soundtrack using fi eld recordings from airports and treated cello. Very sophisticated.
Dawn + Dusk Entwined - Septentrion
Dark ambient project dedicated to the Nordic world. Martial beats and neoclassical beauty. Very strong album.
Carter Tutti - Feral Vapours of the Silver Ether
The title says it all. One of the very best electronic duos. The combination of the Chris Carters pulsating rhythms and Cosey Fanni Tutti’s seductive vocals tickle me pink.
Death in June - Brown Book 20th Anniversary Edition
This is an exquisite release housed in a hand - carved soapstone box. Half the fun was drooling over this with my fellow coworkers. So when your loneliness closes in, pour yourself a glass of German wine, and loose yourself in the majestic Brown Book!

Bloodysnowman - Bloodybuddies
Bloodysnowman is bloody great. Shawn Porter (AKA Oakland’s Bloodysnowman) serves up brand new and remixed tracks on his latest “Bloodybuddies” on the Bay Area’s most exciting and consistently innovative & prolific label - Daly City Records. The label’s main man, David Wang (AKA Mochipet), as well as Xiu Xiu, Yoko Solo, and others are among the remixers on this collection of twisted electronic bliss.
Dopestyle - The Little Happy/Fools Pool
Another great release from the Bay Area label that can do no wrong, Daly City Reords. 30-track, 2 CD set from SF emcee Dopestyle with his equally gifted producer DJ 4AM (AKA Jason Chavez) whose adventurous soundscapes perfectly compliment Dopestyle’s unique, run-onerratic, stream-of-consciousness, delivery that lyrically ventures into new terrain.
Ill Insanity - Ground Xero
Rescuing turntablism from the clutches of its creative lull of the past few years ex X-ecutioners Rob Swift and Total Eclipse along with newcomer DJ Precision have formed the triple-threat skratch group Ill Insanity and delivered a truly great instrumental hip-hop album (with one emcee track) on Fat Beats. Roc Raida, Qbert, and Excess are among the guests.
Del the Funky Homosapien - 11th Hour
Hooked up with Def Jux for his latest solo outing, 11th Hour, founding member of the Hieroglyphics crew, and veteran Bay Area emcee with a rich & varied career displays the secret to his longevity as he serves up a very satisfying funk fueled hip-hop collection including such winning joints as “Workin It” and “Naked Fonk.”
YMD - Excuse Me; This Is the Yah Mos Def
Effortlessly channeling early Beastie Boys (circa when they fi rst found rap) is what the duo YMD do so well on their punk-energy, raw rap assault ‘This is the Yah Mos Def” (My Pal God) that you don’t even think of accusing them of being rip off artists. Instead you thank them for bringing back that classic Beasties sound that the originators themselves abandoned so long ago.
