We at Amoeba Music care more about music than we rationally ought to! We love listening to Music, feeling it, debating it, and turning people on to our favorite new sounds. And that’s why we publish a giant (and now legendary) free fanzine twice a year called MUSIC WE LIKE, in which the staff of all three stores pick their current favorites and vent their musical passions.

MUSIC WE LIKE is a glossy, colorful book with over a hundred pages of lists of employee favorites. All Amoebites, from the security staff to the floor folks to the used buyers, are asked to list their top 5 favorite releases from the last 6 months. Some submissions stretch this time frame, and most included detailed reviews of their picks. Everybody gets to express who they are and what they like, and these uncensored submissions make up a wild and wonderful melting pot of opinions and discoveries. Each book lists literally thousands of new titles that the Amoeba staff feels personally passionate about.

They’re also chock-full of local tips and recommendations for things to do, read or see. You’ll find converging agreement and stubborn idiosyncrasies side by side - it’s a valuable guide to what’s new and interesting, as well as a panoramic snapshot of the Amoeba staff.
