Singer-songwriter and guitarist, James Mulvey is former frontman of the Chicago quartet, The Alleyways. A metamorphosis from indie-rock bandleader to solo artist, his debut EP delivers rock for the ages, replete with intricate guitars, honest lyrics, driving melodies and hook-filled choruses.

Gift for the End is the sophomore offering from Mariee Sioux. While grounded in the earthy sounds of Mariee Sioux’s fingerpicking, the album owes as much to Joanna Newsom’s ambitious compositional scope as it does to the summery Americana of 1960’s Laurel Canyon.

A creative blend of the DIY side of Creation records, Bossa Nova stylings and 1960s soundtrack sensibilities. Playfulness, brooding and intensity all take turns as acoustic guitars in a reverb haze blow over percussion grooves evoking vintage moods that remain retro retread free.
