Hard core rapper Eminem (born Marshall Bruce Mathers III) began his climb into the national consciousness in 1996 from Detroit, Michigan with his solo debut, Infinite (1996 – Web Entertainment). The underground album did little to presage the platinum sales Eminem would enjoy for his future, more fearless releases.
