James Pants is an avant-pop multi-instrumentalist, beatmaker and singer, originally hailing from Spokane, Washington. Pants, a one-man phenomenon, dubbed his style "fresh beat," with influences from early '80s soul, electro boogie, rap, synth and post-punk disco.
Pants was discovered in Austin, Texas by Stones Throw Records founder Peanut Butter Wolf. Pants left his high school prom (with his date in tow) to meet PBW at a show.
