Peter Brötzmann
Although “ferocity” is practically the first word in any description of the playing of German reed master, Peter Brötzmann, a closer listen to any of his many recordings will reveal the inner logic of a man fully in control of his instrument. He’s not just a wild free blower, but someone who has worked hard on his sound.
