Grover Washington, Jr. is one of the pioneers of the smooth jazz sound, along with artists like Spyro Gyra, George Benson, David Sanborn and Chuck Mangione, and since his first record has captured that slick reverbed saxophone sound which is so iconicly associated with the genre.
