William Richard Frisell was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on March 18, 1951. The family soon moved to Denver, Colorado, where young Bill, inspired by Mouseketeer Jimmy of the Mickey Mouse Club, built a guitar out of cardboard and rubber bands.
