Ewan MacColl

Ewan MacColl was an actor, poet, playwright, and record producer, but will be most remembered for work as a folk singer, songwriter, and folklorist. He helped lay the foundation for the British folk revival and became one of its most outspoken champions, recording more than 100 albums of traditional folk song and his own compositions. In 1956 he began a lifelong collaboration and relationship with Peggy Seeger (Pete’s half sister) that produced dozens of fine albums, both traditional and of their own composition.
