Amoeba Review

A new series to commemorate the tracks that drove the Dublin Collective’s club nights, if this first entry is any indicator, we are excited for what’s to come. First up is a longform Balihu/Nuphonic rave-up, a reimagining of Block 16’s Elektrokution from chief disco hustlers Daniel Wang and Brennan Green. You’ve heard Danny the Dancer speak about the musicianship inherent in disco music (and he claims, lacking from all other forms of dance music, which he has long since abandoned) - now see him put his hands where his mouth are - Danny steals the show early in the track with a heartbreaking theramin solo! A track in four chapters, the long jam ends with the duo’s version of vibraphone dub. Killer! Pablo and Shoey do their work to the bittersweet and triumphant Sweet Cream track “I Don’t Know What I’d Do If You Ever Left Me”. High class.
