On a rare rainy day in LA Evidence performed at Amoeba Music to support his new release The Weatherman LP. Just in case you didn’t know EV is one third of Dialated Peoples and dropped his first solo project.
This record is all about mic control and EV proved it on stage . He performed a few choice cuts from the album showed us that he can rock the crowd minus his co-partner Rakka. Babu the Beat Junkie was on the laptop/turntables to provide the beats/cuts, as usual he showed why he is one of the best DJ’s on the planet.
New technology and new styles. EV’s vocals were just as clear live as on CD. Chances are your favorite rapper can't pull that off. The crowd was the usual mix of male LA hip hop underground fans as well as some well dressed females representing for EV. The fans were really into the show and EV fed off that energy. His slow delivery was intense and laid back just like Cali life in LA. Alchemist was brought on stage as a special guest and the crowd went nuts. The local producer felt right at home on stage and performed “Hot Cold” w/ EV. Alchemist can hold his own on the mic as well as bang out heaters in the studio. Alchemist was promoting his new release featuring Prodigy of Mobb Deep. I haven’t heard the record yet but it has to be dope with those two coming together.
EV ripped it and stayed and hour after the show signing autographs and taking pictures with his appreciative fans. Everyone was happy. We had a big turn out in the rain and the Weatherman guided us through with his slow stylo and smooth vocals. The album is one of the best hip hop record so far this year, so go pick it up.
I’m Audi 5000, one.
