Idle Warship - Biography
Idle Warship is a rock/Hip-Hop/soul hybrid collaboration between longtime friends, emcee veteran Talib Kweli and soul singer/songwriter Res. Res has appeared on each Talib Kweli album since 2000's Train of Thought and prior to forming Idle Warship, the two have toured together. Idle Warship began as sheer studio experimentation, but the songs they released online in 2008 were attracting attention. Their premiere at SXSW in 2009 was a big success and led to a European tour. Idle Warship then released Party Robot – their debut mixtape with DJ Mick Boogie and singer/songwriter Graph Nobel in October 2009. Idle Warship's first official album, Habits of the Heart, released in November 2011 on Blacksmith, features guest spots from Chester French, John Forte, Jean Grae, Jay Knocka and Michelle Williams.
