Everybody Loves A Nut [Mono Issue] (LP)
Johnny Cash
Amoeba Review
Jeff Hunt 05/27/2010
Johnny Cash’s modus operandi throughout the 1960s was relatively straightforward: At a rate of approximately three a year, he cranked out a relentless succession of loosely themed concept albums; there was a method to the madness, and the easy accessibility of the various topics gave Cash a broad crossover appeal from the limited realm of country to the pop mainstream. There were records about the Wild West, and trains, and gospel music, and Christmas, and Bob Dylan, and prison, and you name it. Everybody Loves a Nut, released by Columbia in 1966, is, for lack of a better term, a comedy album.
