Beloved Oakland indie unit Rogue Wave is back with their fourth album, and their second for Jack Johnson's Brushfire label. While their thoughtful lyrics and intricate songwriting are intact, Zach Rogue & Co. have blasted off in a much poppier direction, with big beats and synths propelling radio-ready anthems. Producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello) weaves a nice blend of their trademark shimmery, pleading sound and the new-found power of club pop bombast. The results are tough and catchy and will surely push their ascending star to new heights!
