I usually try and stay away from all things Canadian, so it's surprising that I even gave this band a listen. Fucked Up have always been messy fun & when I found out they were releasing a 78-minute concept album, I had to give them a tip of the hat. Although the "concept" is wacky (is there ever a normal plot in a concept album?), David Comes To Life is really approachable, anthemic, indie-rockish punk. I'll call it an indie-rock opera.
