The soundtrack to the film about Béla Fleck’s journey through the African birthplaces of the banjo, Throw Down Your Heart is an astoundingly beautiful, joyous and heartbreaking document. It’s all incredible, but the pure joy of “Jesus Is The Only Answer” and the deep, deep melancholy of Oumou Sangare’s vocal accompaniment on “Djorolen” make it a necessary listen. – J.
