Amoeba Review
This great new Yorkshire band is lighting the UK indie scene on fire -- tours with Franz Ferdinand and Muse have only added to the buzz. One listen will have you hooked... their sound is huge, majestic and heartwrenching, with the messianic burn of U2 and the pulsing rhythmic power of Simple Minds or the Call. Singer Coyle Girelli has a resonant murmur that rises to a wild pitch with unearthly command. Could all this mean a return to pre-ironic UK rock, that flag-waving, footstomping call to arms of the mid-eighties? Are we all going to be wearing trenchcoats and combat boots and have long shaggy mullets again soon? I'm going to start growing mine now just in case. You know, so I'll be ready! Until then, be with the Chevin on... the borderland.
