Mission Creek Oakland (MCO) returns in September for a month-long festival packed with shows featuring dozens of local bands and showcasing fifteen venues such as the Uptown Nightclub, The Stork Club, Children’s Fairy Land, and all-ages spaces Rock Paper Scissors and the 25th Street Collective.
The Uptown Nightclub hosts the official opening party in conjunction with First Friday on September 6th, with Naytronix, Clipd Beaks, YNGBNS, and Safeword.
Highlights of the month include a film night at Book Zoo with shorts by local animators, a comedy night at Good Bellies Cafe, and Experimental Notations -- an art installation of sound and its corresponding graphic notation held at Adobe Books and Rock Paper Scissors.
MCO will also be hosting an all-day, all-ages block party in conjunction with the Art Beat Foundation and the East Bay Express. The block party will feature open galleries and businesses throughout the block, a full day of music held at the 25th Street Collective warehouse, and a delicious collection of area food trucks.
