We recently purchased an amazing batch of private press LPs -- synth, glam, folk, country, pop, jazz and more! There's even a picture disc shaped like a batch of fries! Check them out on the main wall between the classic rock & world collectibles at the Hollywood Amoeba.

Amoeba Hollywood buyer extraordinaire Scott Spaulding yanked this gem out of a rather uninteresting collection. It's one of the more amazing packaging gimmicks I've seen in a while -- the cage which holds back the she-beast is a separate molded plastic overlay. Her shimmering eyes are a nice touch and the hot wired love-robot inner sleeve is quite striking as well. It seems that Ms. Rettore is still a popular singer in Italy and at her peak rivaled Mina in popularity. Sadly, the music on this LP comes off pretty flacid when compared to the packaging. Below is a video for the album's hit single "Kobra."
It's great to see so many people buying World Music vinyl. Our World Music LP section went from a little portion at the end of the section to an afterthought at the end of Rock Vinyl, and now has its own row at the beginning of the World Music section. Not only can you get many of our new releases on vinyl, but you can also snatch up plenty of used gems, vinyl only releases and many items that were never issued on CD. Of the Top 40 World Music sellers in February, several were vinyl releases.

We've recently done a huge overhaul of our walls so there's tons of fresh top shelf LPs. Jazz, 20th Century/Avant Garde, Indie, Punk, 60's Rock, Psych, Prog, World, Folk, Metal, Goth and more! All of the LPs pictured are either up for sale now or will hit the walls soon.
A great collection of promotional stickers. I'm still pondering what exactly a "quivering classic" is...
