NKLA is coalition made up of animal welfare organizations, city shelters and individuals concerned for the welfare of animals. It is led by Best Friends Animal Society and is dedicated to ending the killing of healthy pets in L.A. shelters, providing spay/neuter services and helping to increase pet adoptions. Best Friends Animal Society also is providing grants to coalition partners for every pet they get adopted to a new home over the number they adopted last year.

Muttville is a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of senior dogs, rescuing them to find them homes, and providing hospice and education for caring for older dogs. Senior dog adoption and more information can be found at www.muttville.org.

On Saturday, February 9th, Amoeba San Francisco celebrated the canine with our first-ever Dog Day Afternoon! We are a retailer that always invites you and your dog to shop together, but on this special day we  offered special treats for both human and companion, AND set up a doggie photo booth to capture the cuteness. Halloween is a week away and that means it's nearly time for our second annual Pet Costume Contest!! Bring your spooky pooch in costume to Amoeba Hollywood on Wednesday, October 31 at 4pm and you might win the grand prize gift basket from Catts & Doggs or other cool treats. Plus, we'll have creepy DJ sets 2-4pm with DJ FANG FACE and DJ LEW SIFFER, candy for the kids and lots more fun.

Amoeba Hollywood will also close at 7pm, so be sure to get your shopping in early.
