The latest Amoeba Presents show comes to us from electronic artist Shlohmo. In conjunction with Goldenvoice and FYF, the show, billed as a “Live A/V set,” will also include R&B artist Jeremih, with whom Shlohmo will be collaborating, as well as sets from underground songstress Nite Jewel and the Wedidit DJ Team.

The show takes place at the Henry Fonda Theatre Saturday, April 6. Tickets are available in-store at Amoeba Hollywood for $20 (plus a $2 service fee). The show is all-ages and starts at 8 p.m.

L.A. artist Shlohmo layers analog-warm samples of synth, funk, reverbed guitar and blissed-out vocal loops over one another on releases such as 2011’s Bad Vibes album and the recently released Vacation EP. His most recent release, the Laid Out EP, sees him collaborating with How to Dress Well’s Tom Krell on the ethereal track “Don’t Say No.”

Amoeba, Goldenvoice and FYF are presenting punk supergroup OFF! live at the Henry Fonda Theatre Feb. 8, with Negative Approach, Bad Antics and a special guest. Tickets are $17.50, plus a $2 service fee.

Off! was formed in L.A. in 2009 by punk vets Keith Morris (of Circle Jerks/Black Flag) on vocals, Dimitri Coats (Burning Brides) on guitar, Steven McDonald (Redd Kross) on bass and Rocket From The Crypt/Hot Snakes drummer Mario Rubalcaba. The band released a series of EPs, corralling them into the First Four EPs release in 2010 before releasing their official first album in 2012. The widely acclaimed releases each consist of 16 lightspeed hardcore punk songs at about a minute long each.

Local Natives, Christopher Owens and The Growlers Albums Up for Preorder!

I blogged a while back about the first songs from the upcoming Local Natives and Christopher Owens albums. Local Natives are originally from Orange County and put out a great first album, Gorilla Manor. The first song from Hummingbird is called “Breakers,” and it’s the most lush thing they’ve done yet. Meanwhile, former Girls frontman Christopher Owens of S.F. has unveiled the single “Here We Go,” a delicate ballad stripped of much of the distortion and reverb that caked a lot of Girls song to reveal a vital core. It’s the first song from Lysandre, due Jan. 15 on Fat Possum, which you can now preorder here!

Additionally, locally grown garage rockers The Growlers will release their new album Hung at Heart Jan. 22.
