The holidays are just around the corner, which means it’s time for some blockbuster releases from the likes of Green Day, who are releasing their second two of three albums this year; pop stars Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Lana Del Rey; and high-profile indie releases from Scott Walker, Brian Eno and Atoms for Peacel. See highlights of albums up for preorder at Amoeba.com below; a full-list of available preorders is here.
Brian Eno – Lux
CD $14.98 available now
LP $25.98 due 12/11
Consisting of four LP-side-length pieces, the latest from the electronic music pioneer (and one-time Roxy Music member) falls into Eno’s ambient canon. Eno also recently developed an iPhone app called Bloom, which allows the average person to construct their own ambient music without knowledge of how to program or play an instrument.
Led Zeppelin - Celebration Day
Due 11/19

CD $16.98
Deluxe Edition 2CD/Blu-Ray + DVD $39.98
This two-CD set captures a performance by the legendary band on December 10, 2007, at London's O2 Arena.
Rihanna – Unapologetic
CD $13.98
Deluxe Edition CD $18.98
Rihanna made headlines by announcing her new album would feature ex-boyfriend Chris Brown and that her new album would be released in a $250 platinum edition Dec. 11. Unapologetic indeed! For the 99%, the standard edition and deluxe CD (with three extra tracks and a DVD) are out Nov. 19. Listen to “Diamonds” below, which is no “Only Girl in the World,” but is still pretty good.
Atoms for Peace – Default
Vinyl 12” $12.98
The first taste of Thom Yorke’s new band (though Radiohead is still alive and well), which also includes Red Hot Chili Peppers members Flea (bass) and Mauro Refosco (percussion), Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich on keyboards and Joey Waronker (who’s played with R.E.M., Elliott Smith, Ima Robot and others) on drums. I’d advise those of you who don’t love the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Thom Yorke’s Eraser not to dismiss Atoms for Peace; the first taste of the band sounds in line with Radiohead’s more electronic albums like Hail to the Thief and The King of Limbs. Atoms for Peace will release their first album, Amok, on Jan. 28.
Oneohtrix Point Never - Rifts
Due 11/19
CD set $13.98
LP set $59.98
The Brooklyn experimental electronic artist releases his first three albums as a box set.
The Faint - Danse Macabre [Deluxe Edition]
Due 11/19
CD $18.98
This reissue of the synth-pop classic has a second disc of outtakes and remixes.
Alicia Keys – Girl on Fire
CD $13.98
Alicia Keys’ first album after becoming her own co-manager, marrying producer/rapper Swizz Beatz (who produces “New Day”) and having her first child, who is named Egypt.
Memory Tapes – Grace/Confusion
CD $12.98
LP $14.98
Dayve Hawk’s latest release includes “Sheila,” which sounds like a Supertramp or Fleetwood Mac song stretched it into an epic electronica wonderland.
Scott Walker – Bish Bosch
Due 12/4
CD $13.98
LP $29.98
Scott Walker's last album, The Drift, was an eerie masterpiece of experimental noise and high drama. Bish Bosch sounds like it'll be along those lines, judging by this preview of the album. Just in time for the holidays!
