#41 - The Beautiful South - Miaow - 1994 Evidently The Beautiful South were threatened with a lawsuit by HMV for this cover for using "their dog". The cover was replaced by a cover of 4 alsation dogs stranded in a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean. |
#4 - Moby Grape - S/T - 1967 Columbia realizes too late that a certain middle finger is showing. Efforts to airbrush out the finger don't quiet the controversy. |
#6 - The Bob Seger System - Ramblin' Gamblin' Man - 1969 Evidently the execs felt the original nude venus was too racy and replaced her with a robed version that looks quite similar. Supposedly the censor was a notorious record exec referred to as Dr. Fine, and Seger's "Thank You Dr. Fine" on the back of his RGM album was meant to be sarcastic |
