i can't believe kings of leon is not in the list. this is a bullshit list
yeah no Kings of Leon, no Rick Astley, no Coldplay (the greatest creative, envelope-pushing band of all time), no albums I agree on. Damn your list. It is different from mine. To all the people who write lists that I dont agree with. Stop it. Please stop it.
damn this list! this is a disgrace
First, let me comment on the comments above. Yes you have a right to your own opinion about things but there is a way to at least express your concern in a better manner. I TOTALLY disagree that the list is completely bullshit! Billy I'm sure has listened to hundreds of albums the past year. He may have not listened to Metallica's, Van Morrison's, etc albums last year. I mean overall if you know the history of Billy Jam, you know that he listens to a wide range of music, but his heart is dedicated towards the Hip Hop culture. Lastly, I listen Paris along with 100,000+ people.
This list is the shit. Fuck pop rap.
This looks like a true school Hip Hop list to me. I would not have expected Billy Jam to include Rock or other genres. I do like this list, scanning the artists, seeing many that I really like vs seeing a mainstream list and seeing a bunch of top selling rappers that I don't listen to. I love it that this list is ACTUALLY and GLORIOUSLY different!!!! And includes DJs! Not just vocalists and emcees! I would actually take advice on Billy on what to buy vs Billboard or Rolling Stone. PEACE!
I'm glad this doesn't sound like EVERYOTHER LIST OUT THERE. You all reference bands getting universal approval...you need it from the Amoeba Hip Hop guy too? YOU'RE IDIOTS
quote! 'Damn your list. It is different from mine. To all the people who write lists that I dont agree with. Stop it. Please stop it.' people that make statements like this are NOT to be trusted. this person is clearly from the future or possibly some alternate universal path, either way, if you dont want to hear other peoples opinions, what are you doing reading a top 50 albums list. by the way, this isnt a rolling stone magazine top 50 either which would have a much broader spectrum of recommendations, after all, thats all this list is supposed to be - a list of recommendations. Speak when you're spoken to! naysayers - keep hitting stumble and speading your bad vibes, ultimately it'll get you no where.......
This is a HIP HOP TOP 50 ALBUMS OF 2008
i say you're all full of shit. every musicians mentioned above wanted to hit it big. so don't give me that indie shit. fuck off people, we all want to be rich including your so called independent musicians. and you're right this isn't rolling stone magazine or spin or vibe or the source, but i can guarantee you that all of the artists on this list wish they can have at least a small article written about them in the mainstream world. fucking morons

this is such a bullshit list! judging from your list, you're being biased against mainstream music. not all mainstream music are bad. where's metallica on the list? oasis? van morrison? the black keys? coldplay? the roots? who the fuck listens to paris? do me a favor, don't ever compile a list of top albums again. EVER!
