INT. JOB'S APARTMENT - MORNING
CAMERA PANS, SHOWING JOB'S IMMACULATE AND ECCENTRICALLY
APPOINTED LODGINGS. SHOT ENDS ON JOB.
JOB, (early 30's) is in bed, sleeping.
At his feet, curled into a black round, is his cat, FANGS.
ZOOM IN ON JOB'S FACE.
His mouth and brow twitch slightly; he is dreaming.

INT. JOB'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Job is in bed, sleeping.
He tosses.
He wakes suddenly, from a nightmare.
He looks around, dazed.
He relaxes a little when he sees Fangs' sleeping body.
He pets his cat a few times and the cat stretches, purrs.
JOB
Kitty, I just had the weirdest
dream.
FANGS
I'm going to eat your soul.
INT. JOB'S APARTMENT - MORNING
Job wakes up suddenly, from a nightmare.
He takes a few breaths.
He looks down at Fangs, sleeping.
He grumpily nudges the cat awake and pushes him off the bed.
Job checks the clock. It's almost 9:30.
JOB
Note to self: good morning.
INSERT SHOT OF JOB'S HAND TURNING MUSIC ON.
We hear Fairuz sing "Mush Kissa Hai" from her album "Kifak
Inta", often found in Amoeba Music's world music section.
INT. JOB'S APARTMENT, RESTROOM - MOMENTS LATER
Job is soaping up in the shower.
The bar of soap slips from his hands.
Oddly, there's no sound of the soap hitting the tub.
Job looks around but can't find the soap.
He looks outside the tub, on the window sill, etc.
He chuckles in spite of himself.
INT. JOB'S APARTMENT, RESTROOM - MOMENTS LATER
"In My Little Bottom Drawer" as sung by Gracie Fields (to be
found in the Pop Vocals section), plays.
Job towels off as nearby Fangs washes himself.
JOB
We're a couple of clean chaps, what
what?
Fangs looks up only for a couple seconds, then returns to
cleaning himself.
Job smiles, wraps the towel around his waist and begins to
brush his teeth.
INT. JOB'S APARTMENT - MOMENTS LATER
Job sits at his desk, wearing only underwear, reading the
Guardian Unlimited website.
He is drinking a pint of tea.
Playing from the speakers is Jabbo Smith & His Rhythm Aces
(located in Jazz), which switches to Badfinger (Rock/Pop) as
Job gets distracted from a report on the Israel-Palestine
conflict to an article about Kate Middleton.
The article reminds Job that he is out of chewing gum.
JOB (V.O.)
No one's going to get that joke.
INT. JOB'S APARTMENT, KITCHEN - MOMENTS LATER
Blasting is a ditty from the Josie & the Pussycats
compilation "Stop, Look & Listen: The Capitol Recordings",
which is long out of print and not only a collector's item
but a real yummy pop effort, perfect for a summer's day and
especially good for those rad mix-tapes you make for your
pals and which, as of this writing, Amoeba Music Hollywood
has one precious copy of, located in the Soundtracks section.
Job does pull-ups in the kitchen doorway, using a bar he's
built in.
His cell-phone rings.
He drops from the bar and gets it.
JOB
Hello?
FANGS (V.O.)
I'm inside you now.
INT. JOB'S APARTMENT - MORNING
Job wakes from a nightmare, gasping.
He looks down and sees Fangs, asleep.
He checks the clock. It is almost 9:30.
JOB
Aw, dammit...
Fangs wakes and looks up at him.
JOB (CONT'D)
(to Fangs)
You mean I have to get ready for
work again?
Fangs blinks twice and goes back to sleep.
JOB (CONT'D)
Stupid cat...
Fangs purrs.
